Rising Chinese smartphone firm Huawei has not yet completed launching all of its smartphones for the year 2015. After announcing its P8, P8 Max and P8 Lite, Huawei is expected to launch yet another phablet sized handset by the end of April called Honor 6 Plus. Honor 6 Plus is going to possess a 5.5 inch screen size that will render the FHD (1080p) resolution.

Inside the housing will be Huawei's homegrown Kirin 925 SoC, with an octa-core processor that possesses slightly higher clock frequencies compared to Honor 6 (both processors feature ARM's Cortex-A15 and Cortex-A7).

Additionally, both smartphones will also be possessing the same amount of RAM (3 GB). According to GSMArena, the announcement of Honor 6 Plus is most likely going to take place on April 28, 2015 at the KLCC event. It might appear that Honor 6 features the better camera sensor (13 MP), but according to the website, Huawei has incorporated two 8 megapixel sensors on Honor 6 Plus that will allow smartphone camera users to capture images boasting a resolution of 13 megapixels.

Additionally, the 'fast focus' feature will also be present, in which objects of interest appearing in the lens of Honor 6 Plus' rear shooter will be focused on in 0.1 seconds. The feature is very similar to HTC One's Duo-Camera. Thanks to the 5.5 inch screen size, Huawei was able to equip its upcoming smartphone with a very large 3,600 mAh battery. In contrast to Honor 6, which features a 3,100 mAh battery, users should easily be able to get 24 hours from the phablet sized smartphone.

The disappointing aspect of the handset is that it will not be running Google's Lollipop update and instead, consumers will have to settle for KitKat 4.4.2. Honor 6 Plus will provide compatibility for two SIMS and will provide LTE connectivity (if the carrier network supports its) thanks to its LTE Cat 6 modem. The dual-SIM variant will retail for 2,499 CNY ($403 USD). So far, Huawei has not stated if it is going to ship the device to other markets besides China but if it does, the company will become threat for other manufacturers.
