Not much information is known regarding the upcoming high-end Huawei Mate 10 smartphones. Thanks to the reliable tech leakers online, the public now has an idea on what the premium handset, dubbed as the "truly intelligent" device, can offer to users. According to the latest reports, the Huawei Mate 10 will boast new camera mode features, namely the object and makeup recognition.

Details about the new camera mode features of Huawei Mate 10 came from XDA Developers, which claims that the hints are already in the latest system firmware update of the current Huawei Mate 9 device. The same hints of the upcoming object and makeup recognition features are said to be found in devices running the latest EMUI version 5.1 firmware. Although, these features are still disabled in the camera app, likely because the object and makeup recognition modes are made exclusive for the Huawei Mate 10.

According to the leaked info, the object recognition camera mode will allow users to scan through an item and have the smartphone identify what it is. Boasting powerful artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, the Huawei Mate 10 can tell what object that the camera is pointing at.

On the other hand, the makeup recognition mode feature of the Huawei Mate 10 is similar to be "beauty" feature included in Huawei devices for the Chinese market. This camera mode will let the users to change their complexion before taking a photo, instead of adjusting their appearance after that picture was already taken.

A known tech leaker and analyst, Evan Blass, revealed that Huawei will launch at least three smartphone models this October, namely the Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Lite, and Mate 10 Pro. As the name suggest, the latter model will be the top-tier variant among the three, with the Mate 10 Lite being the budget model. The latest leaked renders show the Huawei Mate 10 Pro having an edge-to-edge wide display, amounting to 18:9 aspect ratio. It will also sport a total of three cameras, a 12 MP and 20 MP dual cameras at the rear, plus a single 8 MP front camera.

Huawei is marketing the Mate 10 smartphone as an "intelligent machine," as seen in the latest short promo released by the company last week. The Huawei Mate 10 is being presented with premium AI features enough to take on Apple's tenth anniversary iPhone X handset. The public will learn more about the device with its launch set on Oct. 16.
