Huawei has unveiled its Mate 9 Pro during a dedicated event held in China. The company's latest smartphone packs an interesting hardware specification that is worthy of a flagship phone.

Just a day after the company unveiled the Huawei Mate 9 and Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design, it unveiled its 5.5-inch Huawei Mate 9 Pro. The display offers an AMOLED Quad HD resolution screen that is curved on both edges, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy Note 7, GSM Arena reported.

The Mate 9 Pro is also powered by the Kirin 960 processor, similar to the other models of the series, and it also houses the octa-core Mali-G71 GPU. The combination of these powerful components provides an 18 percent increase in performance. It is then paired with either 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM that will make sure that all the apps, videos, and HD games perform the way they should. It is also compatible with Google's Daydream VR platform.

The new device also comes with the second generation dual camera setup co-engineered with Leica. It contains a 12 MP RGB sensor and a 20 MP monochrome sensor. The RGB lens captures the colors, while the monochrome sensor gets the smaller details. It also features an optical image stabilization, advanced 4 hybrid auto-focus, depth ISP performance and the Leica Summarit lenses.

Internal storage is pegged at 64 GB for the lower RAM version, while the higher RAM offers 128 GB. Its battery is rated at 4,000 mAh, and its Huawei SuperCharge technology delivers a 50 percent increase charging performance. The company boasts that a 20-minute charge can take care of a day's use. A full battery use can provide up to 20 hours of video entertainment, 105 hours of music enjoyment, and 30 hours of 3G voice calling. Its fingerprint security sensor is located at the front just like the Porsche design model. The standard Mate 9 model has its scanner at the back, below the camera.

Currently, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro is available in China and has a 4,699 Yuan (approx. $685) price tag for the 4 GB RAM/64 GB ROM model and 5,299 Yuan (approx. $772) for the 6 GB RAM/128 GB ROM variant.
