Although it is expected to be shown this week, Huawei has yet to come out with the official specs and features list for its new flagship, the Mate 9. However, supposed leaks have already pointed out the improvements for the new lineup.

Reports out of China spell out that the Huawei Mate 9 will launch as a full lineup, with a base model and a premium Pro version. Supposed leaked specs say that while a full lineup, the iterations of the series will share similar specs in some areas, including a 5.9-inch display, and the new Kirin 960 chipset. The two variants may also come out with the same Android Nougat 7.0 platform.

However, the Pro version is supposed to come out with a 2K display resolution, 6 GB of RAM, and up to 256 GB on onboard storage. The base model, on the other hand, will feature 4 GB of RAM and storage options for either 64 or 128 GB.

It is also said that the Mate 9 Pro will come out with a dual-curved edge display, while the base version will feature a regular flat screened one. However, Huawei has yet to confirm this detail, and so, rumors surfaced that the full lineup will only feature the former.

However, though Huawei has yet to come out with confirmed details, some of the specs and features for the Mate 9 have already been established. It is already revealed that as a flagship, the new lineup will feature the recently-announced Kirin 960 chipset as its powerhouse. In addition, a new dual cam setup for the iteration has been reportedly confirmed. Featuring the same Leica co-engineered optics as the current-gen P9, the Huawei Mate 9 will improve on its dual-cam feature by sporting 20- and 12-MP setups (against the P9's dual 12-MP one).

Huawei has already confirmed a press event for Nov. 3, where it is expected that the Mate 9 will be launched.
