Huawei, doesn't seem to slow down a little, it is already rumored to be working on the successor for it Mate 8 that was released just November last year. It is said to be containing the latest Kirin processor, the 960 and may also contain a dual-camera pegged at 20 MP. It was only on April 6 that the company unveiled their Leica-engineered dual-camera lens smartphone, the P9 and the P9 Plus.

GizmoChina reported, that according to industry analyst Pan Jiutang, that the rumored Huawei Mate 9 will have its home-grown yet unannounced processor, the HiSilicon Kirin 960 and will the first phone to use the alleged processor. This is an upgrade of the Kirin 955 which came along with the company's P9 series smartphones.

The Kirin 960 SoC chip is said to be equipped with the Cat. 12 LTE speeds, as well as support for CDMA networks. The GPU will likely receive an update that will boost the overall performance of the phone. The upcoming chip is said to be in an octa-core configuration, as well as the GPU.

The most interesting rumor with regards to the Mate 9 is its 20 MP dual-camera rear lenses, which may have a similarity with the recently showcased P9 phones. However, no extra details were available for this feature, if Leica will be involved again on its design.

TechnoBuffalo added that Huawei Mate 9 may be unveiled during the Berlin Radio Show or IFA 2016, that happens in September. However, the company is also known to hold its own launching events.

The Mate 9 is expected to be featuring a 6-inch display screen that offers 2560 x 1440 Quad HD screen resolution, possibly 3 GB, or 4GB of RAM. Early rumors stated a 6 GB RAM, while the internal storage may likely be at 32 GB or 64 GB, but may also feature a 128 GB one.

It is rumored that the alleged Huawei Mate 9 will be officially unveiled later in the year.
