Huawei Nexus specs: 5.7-inch QHD screen and fingerprint scanner

Rumors claiming Huawei is working with Google on a new Nexus smartphone have been circulating for some time now, but no news in regards to the phone's specs and features has been revealed.

Now for the first time, fans can get to see what Google and Huawei are preparing in the kitchen, as new details have been leaked recently by a popular and reliable source, according to reports. These specifications have been announced by technology leaker Evan Blass, also known as evleaks.

The new leak mentions that the Huawei Nexus handset is expected to sport a 5.7-inch display screen with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution (QHD). In addition, it is expected to come in a metal body along with a fingerprint scanning technology.

Tech Radar reports that since the new handset is a Nexus device, it could come with Google's latest Android M mobile operating system pre-installed.

Under the hood, it is expected to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC processor. However, the leak doesn't mention anything about how much RAM and internal memory the new phone will have. It does mention that the new device might launch sometime by the fourth quarter of this year.

This new rumor hasn't been confirmed yet, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.

This is the first time Huawei is working with Google on a new smartphone device. The search engine giant had already worked with South Korean firm LG Electronics on the previous Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 devices. It is also currently developing a new LG Nexus handset which is expected to be released by this year as well.

Huawei, on the other hand, recently launched its latest Huawei Honor 7 smartphone earlier this month. The device comes with high-end features including a fingerprint scanner.
