While Huawei has just recently released a new flagship, it is said that the tech maker is already hard at work on its next lineup release. Supposedly, the Huawei P10 is already in the pipeline.

According to GizmoChina, alleged leaked images are showcasing the front panel of a yet unnamed Huawei device. However, given the general dimensions and design of the device, it is expected that the iteration is the next company flagship, the Huawei P10. While the supposed photos only show a skeleton framework for the device's front panel, the images give hints on what fans can expect from the next flagship.

Supposedly, the Huawei P10 will come out with a front-mounted fingerprint scanner. In addition, the tech maker is purportedly adapting a new technology for its biometrics sensor, as the scanner is seen to be baked directly into a virtual home button. This means that the ultrasonic sensor will be directly under the glass, leading to improved scan times.

Meanwhile, aside from the supposed front panel images, not much is known about the next Huawei flagship. However, given the specs of the current-gen P9, as well as the specs of the Mate 9, it can be expected that the next release will offer similar specs with the two series iterations.

Rumors suggest that the Huawei P10 will feature the new Kirin 960 chipset, the same processor powering the Huawei Mate 9. Under the hood, the chipset will be paired with at least 4 GB of RAM and at least 64 GB of onboard storage. Features-wise, the upcoming flagship is also expected to feature a dual-cam setup with Leica co-engineered optics, the same as its predecessor, the P9.

As to when fans can expect the Huawei P10, it is said that the tech maker is likely to follow a year-long refresh cycle for its flagships, meaning an early 2017 launch. The current-gen Huawei P9 was released last April.
