After Huawei's successful unveiling of the Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, and Mate 9 Porsche Design this month, tech fans are now looking forward to the company's next move as it maintains its position as the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Recent rumors indicate that Huawei is gearing up to launch the P10 as an alleged prototype of the handset leaked the phone's design, as well as its specs.

According to Phone Arena, the photographs of the prototype, which was rendered in pink, were leaked on Weibo and reveals a dual camera setup at the back of the phone. It has always been expected that Huawei will replicate the P9's dual 12-megapixel Leica shooters for the upcoming smartphone, as consumers became big fans of the current device due to this feature. The phone is also said to have a front-facing fingerprint scanner, an all-metal body, and a redesigned antenna band.

A recent benchmark test on GFXBench revealed that the Huawei P10 will have a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels, which is a significant upgrade from the P9's 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. The smartphone is tipped to have a Kirin 960 chip with an octa-core 2.3 GHz central processing unit (CPU), as well as a Mali-G71 graphics processing unit (GPU). The current device is powered by a Kirin 955 octa-core chip and has 3 GB of random access memory (RAM).

The P10 is rumored to be available in two variants — one model is said to have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory, while the other is tipped to have 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage. It is expected that the Huawei P10 will come in more color variations than the current phone, which is available in Pink, Gold, Silver, and Gray.

The Huawei P10 is expected to launch in April 2017. As for its price, the P9 was priced at about $530 upon its release, and it is expected that the next-generation phone will be available at a slightly higher price point due to its upgraded features. It's estimated that the P10 could cost around $650 when it debuts next year.
