Huawei is one of the tech firms that captured the attention of tech enthusiasts with the launch of the P10 and Mate 10 smartphones last year. The Shenzhen-based handset maker now has a good reputation that everyone has very high expectations for its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Huawei P20. Based on the recent reports, the next-gen P series handset will not disappoint, given that it will be the world's first-ever device to sport a triple-lens camera setup.

The public will have to wait a little longer for the Huawei P20 as the handset is no longer expected to arrive at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona this February. Huawei already confirmed through the official press invitation that the launch of the P20 smartphone will be on March 27. The event will happen at the Grand Palais exhibition hall in Paris, France. The additional waiting period might be worth it, however, as the latest leaks show that the Huawei P20 will boast high-end technology that can topple off Apple's iPhone X.

It is expected that the Huawei P20 will further raise the standard when it comes to a high-end camera smartphone. In the last few years, the trend among the leading handset makers has been going toward a multiple camera build. To note, the iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are some of the premium handsets in 2017 that feature dual-lens cameras. As for Huawei, it appears that the company will be one step ahead of its rivals by introducing three lenses at the rear camera of the P20.

The three lenses will be aligned vertically at the back, and together, this triple-lens build can capture an image with a resolution of 40 MP. The Huawei P20 camera has other impressive tricks, including the 5x hybrid zoom feature for both optical and digital mode.

Lastly, the upcoming flagship is rumored to have a similar 3D facial recognition feature as the 2017 iPhone model, supported by enhanced AI capabilities and the triple-lens camera. The leaked renders also show a notch area on top of the P20 display, resembling the notch of the iPhone X.
