Hudson Taylor Play Tours the UK

James Hudson Taylor, the founder of mission group OMF, will be featured in a one-man play that will tour churches in the UK.

Hudson Taylor is produced by the EverAfter Theatre Company in association with OMF.

The play first opened in October 2006 and has received rave reviews from audiences, which has now led to the tour being arranged.

"We're delighted that, at a time when OMF is seeking to place 100 Christians with professional skills in China, this moving and entertaining play recalls our founder's work there," said Chris Wigram, OMF's National Director.

OMF was founded by James Hudson Taylor in 1865 as the China Inland Mission, and exists to 'glorify God through the urgent evangelisation of East Asia's billions'.

According to the EverAfter website, "Hudson Taylor was a man of vision and of faith, willing to give up everything, his friends, family, his culture and even his life to meet the needs of the Chinese people.

"Forced by circumstances to grapple with the big issues of life, his was a life lived on his knees in prayer to the God he loved to serve, of self-sacrifice for the needs of others and of great joy even in the face of suffering."
