This week on "Humans," Joe got too close to Anita when they were left all alone in the house, and Leo revealed his true identity. 

The episode opened with Pete, who was working from home after he got suspended for injuring a reporter the previous week outside the synth brothel. During breakfast, Jill told him that she thinks their relationship isn't healthy and that he doesn't make her happy anymore. 

"I would like some time apart," Jill said. 

Pete said that he couldn't go anywhere because he was suspended, and when Jill didn't want to compromise, Pete turned to punch Simon but stopped and took his anger out on the wall instead. 

Meanwhile, Joe was looking forward to a quiet night with Laura since Mattie and Toby were at a party, but Laura had chosen to head out instead to visit a woman who claimed that her synth was acting differently than others. Joe thought that his wife may be having an affair, so he got Anita to track the GPS on the car. As he headed out to follow her, Anita told him that Laura made a call to a potential client, so Joe went back inside. 

In the house, Joe poured wine for himself while Anita did the washing. He wondered what would happen if he activated Anita's Adult Options, and after consulting the manual, he did just that. What started with a kiss led to them being intimate on the couch. Afterwards, Joe felt ashamed of what he had done, and he told Anita to delete the incident from her records and said that she isn't allowed to mention it to anyone. 

Laura came home and decided to take Anita for a diagnostics test. The tech worker told her that Anita is not brand new — she's at least 14 years old. 

After Leo found Anita's codes online courtesy of Mattie, he set up a meeting with her, but he questioned her so aggressively that she took off without telling him anything. After Leo and Max found a hidden message in Anita's codes, they tracked down George Millican, who is part of the original synth project team. 

At George's house, the two learned that the message is a program within the code placed there by David Elster. George told them that he decided to leave the synth project because David was taking the research in a direction that he wasn't comfortable with. 

George found out that the program has an effect on synths, but he's not sure what it is. When George wanted to find out what it is, Leo refused so George told him that he'd call the police if he didn't tell him who he is. Leo told him that he's David's son. George said that David's son died, but then realized that Leo is only part synth. 

Next week, Killer Synth is the breaking news story, and public panic grows. Meanwhile, Karen is hot on Niska's tail, but are the motives for finding her more personal than professional?
