Anthony Marcus is in Waukegan Police custody today after killing his wife and disabled daughter on Sunday night. Marcus also killed the family dog.

Marcus admitted to the murders in a phone call to 911, and reported that he planned to kill himself.

When police arrived to the 53-year-old's home on the 4100 block of Continental Drive, they found a suicide note on the front porch. Upon entering the house, officers found the bodies of 50-year-old Sun, and 17-year-old Samantha Marcus, and a dog. They also found Anthony with self-inflicted wounds, Waukegan Police Cmdr. Joe Florip reported.

Police have not disclosed the manner in which the family was killed, or what type of wounds Anthony sustained. He was taken to the hospital before being booked and processed.

Marcus was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, and is being held on a $5 million bond.

Sources told CBS Chicago that Marcus' suicide note was addressed to his daughter, who was confined to a wheelchair. He allegedly apologized for being a "failure at everything."

The Marcus' daughter was also on the mind of a neighbor, Jennifer McMillian, when she heard about the tragedy.

"To me she was a baby, because she looked... she was 17, but she looked so young," she told CBS Chicago. "And she was in a wheelchair. What could she have possibly done to anybody to deserve what happened to her?"

Neighbors said that Samantha would have been a senior in high school this fall, and Anthony was a retired military veteran. McMillian recounted his facial expression when he was being led away by police.

"He didn't say anything. He looked like he was just maybe in a daze," she said.

Marcus will reappear in court on July 2.
