As Apple Inc. gears up for new product launches this week, speculations claim that a new iMac will also be introduced.

The Cupertino-based tech firm remains mum about the products that they will drop at their Sept. 7 event, but rumors are rife that a new version of their iMac desktops will come out on the market.

Apple World Today reported in August that the 2016 version of iMac will come out with the latest chipset and graphics card. According to the report, the new desktop from Apple that is rumored to be called the iMac Pro 2016 will be equipped with Intel's newest chipset called the Kaby Lake.

If the brand-new chipset will be included, those who are interested to buy the new iMac should expect to see the device support USB 3.1 together with the Thunderbolt 3 port and DisplayPort 1.2. These new ports are believed to improve the overall performance of the desktop.

However, the possibility of using Intel Kaby Lake in the new iMac 2016 will only happen if the chipset will be made available before the desktop reportedly comes out in the market in October. At the moment, there are no information yet if Intel managed to finish working on the chipset on time.

Other reports claimed that the iMac 2016 will get the Polaris graphics card by AMD. It could reportedly offer a better graphics feature that could suit high resolution games perfectly.

Tech Radar also reported that the new version of iMac could come out with VR features that will support the Oculus Rift. It may also have the new flash storage option that will be called the Hybrid Fusion drives, which is expected to have more than 512GB for its available storage capacity.

Reports claimed that the new iMac 2016 will be sold for $1099, yet the company remains mum if the expected price range is true.

Apple Inc. is expected to reveal the new iMac 2016 and their other products on today, Sept. 7.
