Everyone knows how expensive iMacs are, citing the 27-inch models which would cost a lot. But then again, there are other options like let us say perhaps that much talked about 21.5-inch 4K iMac?

If production of a 21.5-inch variant of the iMac is indeed underway, there is a chance that these smaller yet affordable devices may officially be announced this November, two months for now.

A launch is something that many are thinking about but from the looks of it, it would be safer to stay on the conservative side. Apple usually holds a special event in October, normally to introduce devices like the iPad. But as everyone knows, Apple has already done that recently, headlined by the impressive looking iPad Pro and the iPad 4 Mini.

Although it seems a bit fuzzy right now, Apple could come up with another event that would feature the OS X El Capitan soon. If so, that could be the window that Apple may use to launch the said iMac; so right now, it is pretty much up in the air.

An official release for the iMac could be the least way to roll out the 21.5-inch 4K variant as well. A quiet entry into the market may not be so bad, especially if you think of the potential buyers who are aching to get one but cannot due to the high price.

Now, before going a bit overboard, it would be wise to see first what the specs the said iMac would carry. For now, only the 4K resolution seems to be sound. Hopefully, more features will be revealed soon.

If it is indeed already in production (per reports by Apple Insider), the other important facts tied up with the affordable iMac could come out in the coming weeks.
