Apple's latest products, including their new smartphones, laptops, and smart watches, are currently holding their own against their competitor's latest offerings. However, the company has yet to release a product that can rival Microsoft's latest all-in-one PC, the 2016 Microsoft Surface Studio. Apple's new 2016 iMac was rumored to be released sometime this year, but those claims might not have been that accurate as the company still continues to keep mum regarding the development status of their highly awaited follow up.

As of the moment, not a lot is currently known about Apple's plans for its new iMac computer. There are, however, reports which have claimed that the company may just be taking its time in developing a radically innovative product that will be able to blow its competitors out of the water. Reports have claimed that Apple's upcoming computer may be able to muscle its way to the top once again through sheer brute force by sporting the latest hardware and features.

Microsoft's new Surface Studio certainly offers some very unique features that have never been seen before in the creative PC market, but Apple may be able to beat it by sporting a significantly better processor. Microsoft's device sports Intel's current generation Skylake processors, but reports have mentioned that the new iMac could be coming with Intel's next generation chips, the Intel Kaby Lake. If this turns out to be true, then Apple would certainly have the upper hand over Microsoft's product in terms of raw performance.

Several other reports have also claimed that the new Apple iMac could be sporting a brand new display technology with a 5K resolution. Reports have revealed that Apple might have had a hand in creating LG's UltraFine 5K monitor line-up, which could indicate that Apple may be using the same technology on their upcoming iMac computer. If any of the claims turn out to be true, then the new display technology will essentially be the successor to the company's Thunderbolt Display.
