"Incredibles 2" is well on its way to a concept, and fans of the family action film about a family of superheroes are wondering what to expect from the sequel.

Over ten years after the first film, news broke out that Brad Bird would be working on "Incredibles 2" after he confirmed that he would be working on the sequel right after the release of "Tomorrowland." Over four months ago, Bird was three-quarters through the script so fans are assuming that the director now has the full script finished.

The sequel comes at a completely different setting, as numerous superhero franchises have come out since "Incredibles" was released. Now the movie is swimming in a sea packed with masked crusaders.

The film has been set for a June 21, 2019 screening, which is right in time with Warner Bros. "Justice League 2." Creator Bird shares his thoughts on how the team behind the animated movie will give a fresh twist to fans, especially since it will be premiering with another superhero film. He shares how "Incredibles" is not a hit because it's a superhero movie, but because it's a family movie.

"For me, the interesting thing was never the superhero part of it. It was more the family dynamic, and how do superhero things play into that. So the movie is a step further in that direction - but I do have a story idea that I think is very intriguing, and not like anything else." Bird said in an interview with Cinema Blend.

He also said in another interview Collider that the team is "trying to keep it focused in the area that our film was, which was a little bit more about characters and relationships and stuff like that, and see where that takes us."

The first film was a huge hit, as Box Office Mojo records it's earnings to be more than $631 million worldwide, with 41 percent being gross domestic earnings ($261 million).
