Indiana Pacers 2015 trade rumors: Pressure is on for Roy Hibbert

Have we seen that last of Roy Hibbert as a starter at Indiana? Better yet, could he be dealt in a trade?

Hibbert's performance and presence has significantly dipped and fans can go as far as last year when he was a virtually non-factor for the Pacers. And while many felt he would rebound this season, such was not the case.

The Pacers middleman has significantly slowed down and such may be a cause for alarm. The Pacers may change his role (according to Larry Bird) but there is that possibility that he could also be traded.

As a role player, Hibbert is surely someone reliable. But when the stakes are placed up a notch, his role of being a starter has been put in question. If not for his height (7-foot-2), would the Pacers continue to rely and hope for his vast improvement?

Don't be surprised if the Pacers decide parting with Hibbert. Especially if they can get their hands on a faster and probably scrappy big man, it may as well be goodbye for the underachieving Hibbert.

Indiana president Larry Bird is assuming that Hibbert will be back but he further explains that there could be changes as far as Hibbert's role is concerned. He may be relegated to the back-up role although he did add that his part in the team would hinge on how works for it.

Of course such could make Hibbert to believe that he would be better off playing for another team. Maybe so but with the kind of performance he has shown in the last two seasons, the move could be risky.

Other teams would be interested but they could lowball him and offer him short term deals. The money may not be that high, considering his performance as of late. Hence, he may be better off staying with the Pacers unless he believes he can get more playing time and money from another team.
