Indiana Pacers star forward Paul George is set to make his return this 2015–16 season after only playing six games last season due to injury, but because of his new position, the two-time All-Star might consider leaving.

Earlier in the offseason, Pacers president Larry Bird said George will be playing the number four spot once the season begins to fulfill their goal of playing small ball.

This is tough for George who is coming off a gruesome injury suffered in last year's offseason during a Team USA scrimmage ahead of the 2014 FIBA World Cup.

But George, who was expected to miss the entire 2014–15 season, had a fast recovery and was able to play a number of games before the season ended.

The 24-year-old player expressed before that he is not too eager to play at the power forward position where he will be undersized having matchups with players like Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis, Tim Duncan, Pau Gasol, and LaMarcus Aldridge.

"It's the concern just over the course of a season just how my body would take it, especially coming off the injury that I had and a whole year of rehabbing," George said recently about playing the power forward position, according to USA Today.

He also stated, "Again, I'm not too thrilled on it, but it could change the more comfortable I get at the position. But we'll see. But again, I could very much end up loving it, so it's all up in the air. I'm open to the position."

With George not really pleased with the task bestowed upon him for the 2015–16 season, trade rumors started to surface.

In a report by SB Nation, a number of  Philadelphia 76ers fans, who have been lobbying for a Paul George trade, are again having the discussion on the possible deal with George not thrilled playing at his new position.

The 76ers can send future draft picks to the Pacers in exchange for Paul or even include young talents like center Nerlens Noel who played well in his first year last season.

Another factor that may lead to George leaving is the departure of big men David West and Roy Hibbert in the offseason.

George, Hibbert, and West were huge for the Pacers' last three playoff runs where they reached the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2012–13 and 2013–14 seasons.
