The 2015 National Football League (NFL) regular season is not going the way the Indianapolis Colts wanted it to be and to start anew, the team fired offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton last Tuesday.

Indianapolis is currently riding a three-game losing streak with the team's most recent setback a 29–26 overtime defeat to the unbeaten Carolina Panthers last Monday.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said in a statement following the defeat that they are not consistent with their offense as the season progress and that led to the organization parting ways with Hamilton.

"As head coach of this team, it's my responsibility to make sure I'm doing everything we can to put us in the best position to succeed. We thank Pep for his service to the team and wish him all the best," Pagano also said about the decision, according to ESPN.

Replacing Hamilton is Rob Chudzinski whom he worked with before in the University of Miami and the Cleveland Browns, ESPN mentioned in their report.

Hamilton left his job at Stanford as an offensive coordinator to take up the same duties with the Colts in 2013 which reunited him with franchise quarterback Andrew Luck.

Luck played collegiate football for Stanford, having Hamilton as his offensive coordinator before getting drafted by Indianapolis first overall in 2012.

The 26-year-old quarterback is a bit displeased with the decision of the Colts to fire Hamilton. In a conference call with reporters last Wednesday, according to USA Today, Luck said, "It was not fun. But coach (Chuck) Pagano and the powers that be made their decision, and as a team, you buy in, and get on the same page, and move forward and rely on each other. Hopefully it won't have a negative effect on our preparation for the game."

Luck was talking about their game against the unbeaten Denver Broncos this Sunday at the Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Colts had a great campaign in the 2014 season, even reaching the American Football Conference (AFC) championship game in which they lost to eventual champs the New England Patriots.

This season they are struggling at 3–5, although they are still on top of the AFC South tied with the Houston Texans.
