'Infinite Crisis' character roster: Krypto the Superdog added

 Official Infinite Crisis website

Warner Bros. and Turbine have confirmed that the next champion coming to their multiplayer online battle arena game "Infinite Crisis" would be Krypto the Superdog. Gamers will have the option to play as the genetically-enhanced super hound alongside Kal-El and Kara Zor-El – Superman and Supergirl – and choose between the dog's classic, cartoonish form or the more vicious and feral-looking New 52 figure.

Superdog is described as a melee control character with an aggressive play and all-in tactics. He is also a controller with excellent mobility, and can also work as support to protect allies with shields and vision, and a kill setter with abilities for slowing enemies and area of effect pulls.

The skills that players can use are hound-themed. Fetch is a skill which lets gamers throw a bone for Krypto's dash, revealing hidden areas, and makes the character immune to disabling effects.

Other abilities include Man's Best Friend, allowing Krypto to defend allies; On the Hunt, a ravaging howl to slow down enemies; and Piercing Howl, a loud bark with air blasts. The character also supports teammates with Vigilance, a skill that enhances abilities; and with Healing Wave, which applies additional healing effects over time on top of the initial heal.

On how the superdog came to be, "Infinite Crisis" lists the hound's origins as, "Thanks to the unusual qualities of the Phantom Zone, Krypto was able to follow Kal-El to Earth and kept watch over him. When the prisoners of the Zone once again tried to escape, Krypto came to Kal-El's aid and the two drove back the invasion. Now, finally reunited with his beloved master, Krypto fights alongside Superman as he protects the Earth."

The massive multiplayer online battle arena "Infinite Crisis," developed by Warner Bros. and Turbine, is still on its open beta testing phase. It will be released on March 26 for Windows PC.
