The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is anticipated to premiere the "Inhumans" film in 2018, but it might be moved to 2020. Meanwhile, the film is expected to revolve around the "Inhumans" royal family, just like in the comic series.

Marvel has announced that they will be releasing the film "Inhumans" on November 2, 2018 to close their Phase 3 of MCU films. But right after this was announced, a lot of speculations went around that the film has been cancelled because it has been taken off of the list of Marvel's Phase 3 movies.

However, in an interview with Slashfilm, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that "Inhumans" will push through.

"I think Inhumans will happen for sure. I don't know when. I think it's happening on television. And I think as we get into Phase 4 as I've always said, it could happen as a movie. I think it would be super cool," explained Feige.

Marvel is set to release the fourth "Avengers" film in 2019, but Disney has already plotted three different release dates in 2020, which sparked speculations that one of these slots is reserved for the "Inhumans."

Based on the comic series, the "Inhumans" originated from people who were experimented on by the Kree milleniums ago. The Kree — a scientifically and technologically advanced race of aliens — planned to use these humans as soldiers in their war against the Skrulls — an alien race of shapeshifters — but the former later discontinued the experiment.

The Inhumans isolated themselves from society and lived in a city called Attilan, where they created their own advanced technologies. They found out that their powers are activated once they come in contact with Terrigen Mist.

Although there is a vast race of Inhumans, the comic series focuses on the royal family and the film is expected to do the same. The royal family includes the king known as Black Bolt who has a destructive voice, his wife Medusa and her sister Crystal, his brother Maximus the Mad, Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, and a teleporting canine Lockjaw.

"Inhumans" is anticipated to debut in 2020.
