'Injustice 2' new patch set to fix issues brought by last one

A new patch was released on Sept. 30 by NetherRealm to address the in-game issues of the previous ver1.09 update for "Injustice 2."

The previous update, released last Sept. 26, aimed to address general gameplay fixes, stage specific fixes, and character specific fixes. While the system fixes took effect after the version update was completed, it also lead to losing virtual currency, shaders, and missing unlocked gears. Gears are in-game items that will allow players to change the character stats to their preferences. However, these gears can only be acquired through loot boxes given after winning a match and even then the results would be random.

Warner Brothers published a blog post in their site that stated, "We're aware that some players who downloaded the most recent injustice 2 patch are missing Gear...reboot the game after installing the patch. This should recover any Gear earned before 9/25."

Players took heed of this statement and resolved the item deletion issue quickly. However, some players still reported that they have not recovered their lost items, while some say that the patch worked for their systems. This pressed more problems for the developers to address making it harder to pinpoint what the exact problem was.

The problematic patch was supposed to pave the hype for the new character pack downloadable content (DLC). The digital update will bring into the roster of fighting heroes and villains Raiden, Black Lightning, Hellboy, and Black Manta. Players who have not updated to this patch are safe from the issues and are encouraged to the download the new one. The system bug also allowed other players to gain access to the DLC character Raiden prior to its scheduled release.

"Injustice 2" can be played both on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There is also a mobile app version of the game that is free to download in the Android app store.
