Less than a week before "Injustice 2" officially arrives, new details about the anticipated fighting game have been revealed.

Comic book lovers and fighting game fans are now counting the days before NetherRealm's upcoming sequel goes live. The download size for "Injustice 2" has been announced, and gamers no longer need to worry about the game eating up their hard drive space. The file size is about 26.82 GB, which is only a bit larger than the previous installment.

The game is now available for pre-load on Xbox One, which means players can begin downloading it prior to its unlock time next week. PlayStation 4 users have yet to see the game's file size, as "Injustice 2" has not been made available for pre-loading on the said console yet.

NetherRealm has recently dropped a new trailer to unveil further information about the game. In the Multiverse mode, players can earn gear, on top of the items earned from standard matches. The gear gets better each time a player reaches a new level in the Multiverse event. This means that skilled players can expect to get more than those who are still learning the ropes. Also detailed in the clip are Guild Challenges, which will offer gears and other items as rewards. Players can earn special bonuses for joining weekly events with their Guild.

In other news, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced details about the upcoming tournaments for the game's PlayStation 4 version. A total of $600,000 is up for grabs for "Injustice 2" players across the different tournaments. Not long after the game's release,  an "Injustice 2" Pro Series tournament will kick off on May 26. The event will run for four months and will be streamed on Twitch. The remaining 16 players from Latin America, Europe, and North America will move on to the Finals, which will be held in Los Angeles on Sept. 17.

"Injustice 2" will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 16.
