The upcoming DC Comics "Injustice: God Among Us" videogame sequel is going to get a few crossover characters when it sees release next year.

NetherRealm Studios is preparing its upcoming DC fighting game, "Injustice 2," for a cross over character from its other bloody brawling franchise, "Mortal Kombat." Taking advantage of its ownership of the popular videogaming series, NetherRealms seems intent on adding on a "Mortal Kombat" character to add to the hype of the upcoming DC Comics videogame. Earlier this month "Mortal Kombat" co-creator and NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon asked "Injustice: God Among Us" gamers on Twitter which Mortal Kombat character they would like to have as a guest in "Injustice 2."

So far, the results of Boon's poll showed that most of the gamers want the "Mortal Kombat" fighter Subzero to crossover in the upcoming "Injustice 2" videogame, and it looks like Boon and the rest of the creative team are happy to oblige.

"Almost 20,000 of you spoke and it seems like Subzero would be your choice of an 'MK' guest character in Injustice 2. We hear ya....." Boon wrote in his post.

Aside from characters in "Mortal Kombat," Boon also posted an "Injustice 2" guest character poll on Twitter featuring iconic pop-culture characters like Terminator and Buffy the Vampire slayer. So far, with 30,000 votes, Spawn takes the lead as the non-"Mortal Kombat" guest character of choice. Boon, however, doesn't seem too eager to have the character in the upcoming "Injustice: Gods Among Us" sequel.

"Almost 30,000 of you let us know that you wanna see SPAWN in 'Injustice 2.' Are you sure?" the NetherRealms creative director asked on his post.

Others seem to agree as well, with some fans commenting on Boons Tweet that Spawn would be better off as a guest character in "Mortal Kombat," not in "Injustice 2."

"Injustice 2" is slated to release sometime in 2017.
