More details about "Injustice 2" had been revealed after one of the game developers talked about the upcoming DC fighting video game.

In an interview with Game Reactor, NetherRealm Studios' marketing manager Brian Goodman revealed that the soon-to-be-released game will have a different storyline compared to the 2013-released "Injustice: Gods Among Us."

According to Goodman, the difference in the storyline structure of "Injustice 2" will provide an opportunity to come up with a story mode for the game. "We're definitely going to leave them wanting to go through it perhaps a second time," the studio's marketing executive stated.

Goodman also revealed that aside from a story mode, there will be several new single and multiplayer modes when "Injustice 2" comes out. These new offerings will be made for those who enjoy playing the game on their own as well as for those who enjoy competitive and co-operative online matches.

On the other hand, Goodman also explained in a separate interview with EuroGamer how the new gear system that will be introduced in "Injustice 2" could work well to the gamers' advantage, despite the hesitation of a number of fans.

The Sept. 23 report revealed that several "Injustice" fans were concerned that the introduction of the new gear system will bring several advantages and disadvantages among the players. One of the disadvantages mentioned was the possible diversion of the players' attention to gear up their characters instead of focusing on its skills.

"We're creating modes where it's an even playing field and you can gear up for aesthetic reasons but your character stats are on an even plane," Goodman said. "We also have modes where gear actually impacts your strength, which is a whole new level of strategy," he added.

"Injustice 2" is slated to be released by Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm Studios for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in 2017, while a mobile version for iOS and Android devices are also expected to be released.
