"Injustice 2," the sequel to the highly successful "Injustice: Gods Among Us," is set to be launched next year. As the release draws closer, more details about the video game are coming out, such Harley Quinn being the first collectible character statue.

According to IGN, the statue will be released in April 2017 for $80. It stands 7.75 inches tall at a scale of 1:10, and it is part of the Harley Quinn: Red, White and Black line of the DC Collectibles.

Apart from Harley Quinn, "Injustice 2" will also feature a good number of DC superheroes and supervillains, either within the base game or as downloadable content, including Aquaman, Batman, Superman, Supergirl, the Flash, and Wonder Woman as well as Atrocitus, Blue Beetle, Gorilla Grodd, and Deadshot. Reports say that Black Canary might be joining, too.

The characters can be customized and special gear can be earned within the game. The press release on Business Wire in June says that players can be in control of the way their superheroes look and fight.

"In Injustice 2, we are introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games," said Ed Boon, Creative Director at NetherRealm Studios. "We're always interested in pushing the genre forward and allowing players to customize and level-up their favorite DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains is a significant leap," he added.

The events in the game will take place in different locations, namely Atlantis, Gotham City, and Metropolis, and it will continue the story that was introduced in its "Injustice: Gods Among Us." As Batman and his allies try to put society back in one piece, others attempt to bring back Superman's regime. Amidst all these, a new threat arrives on Earth.

GameNGuide reports that there might be a new loot system in which the characters would be able to use their own special abilities but can earn others' powers when they win a fight.

"Injustice 2" is scheduled to be released in 2017.
