Intel released their Broadwell-E family, which belongs to the enthusiast grade of processors, during the ongoing Computex 2016 in Taipei. It is also now known that the company's high-end processor models, the Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X, will be ready by the second quarter of next year, based on Intel's leaked roadmap.

WCCFTech got the information from a Taiwanese website called Bench Life, which posted the information online. It contains not only the high-end processors but also other future chips for desktops, laptops, all-in-ones and tablets. The next generation Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X will be powering upcoming high-end desktops and HPCs, or high-performance computing machines.

The report also mentioned that the Skylake-X is the former Skylake-E, which contains several under-the-hood improvements. The Kaby Lake-X is the unlocked version of the Kaby Lake-K and will arrive in the LGA 1511 socket configuration. Both chips will be using the latest 14nm node.

Additionally, the Taiwanese website also shared information on the Skylake-W, code-named Basin Falls, designed for workstations. This processor will support Socket R LGA 2011, TDP (thermal design power) of 140W and will be able to handle four-channel DDR4 2667MHz memory, Guru 3D reported.

Additionally, Intel will be creating a new PCH, called Kaby Lake PCH, that will be compatible with Skylake-X and Skylake-W chips. This combination will provide the new top-of-the line processors to support up to 20 PCI-E 3.0 lanes. By Q3 of 2016, Kaby Lake-U and Kaby Lake-Y, will be released for all-in-ones and tablets PCs. Finally, before the year ends, the desktop-ready Kaby Lake-S and Kaby Lake-H will be released to take over the current i7-6700.

The community is expecting a showdown of a new generation of processors when the upcoming Zen-based "Summit Ridge" family of processors from AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) is finally released by Q3 or Q4 of this year.
