The "International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda" is to be held on 7th April.

In the 1994 genocide an estimated one million people were killed in 100 days in Rwanda while the international community stood by.

To commemorate the anniversary, the Anglican Church of Canada, through the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) and the 'Partners in
Mission Committee', call on all Anglican parishes to remember the Rwandan Genocide on April 4, and on April 7, to join people around the world in
observing one minute's silence at noon.

PWRDF has made a leaflet titled "Remembering Rwanda" to help parishes during the commemoration. The leaflet gives a brief background of the genocide and indicates what parishes can do.

The United Nations has officially declared April 7th the "International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda."
