'Into the Woods' movie update: First look at Johnny Depp's wolf character

There's so much rave about "Into the Woods" right now, and the feature on Entertainment Weekly sure increased the buzz for Disney's upcoming movie. The film boasts an all-star studded cast and the plot is something everyone will enjoy.

Entertainment Weekly released four different covers for their new issue and those four covers are graced by the different characters of the film. There's Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt and the great Meryl Streep, who plays the evil witch in the woods.

Mackenzie Mauzy is also front and center with her character Rapunzel, which is quite odd considering that Rapunzel isn't a major character in the film. Then again, Disney may have changed their minds about Rapunzel's role and want to capitalize on "Tangled's" fame.

But there's someone who stands out from all of the characters, and it's none other than the big bad wolf himself, Johnny Depp. In the official trailer launched two months ago, all of the character's faces were seen clearly except for the wolf's. Now, in Entertainment Weekly's cover, Depp as the wolf is clearly seen. And surely, everyone would agree that Depp is the sexiest wolf there is.

"Into the Woods" is more than just a fantasy movie, it's a musical. Stephen Sondheim composed most of the important songs in the film and his work in the movie is just phenomenal and on point. In the first trailer, no singing can be heard, but Entertainment Weekly made a featurette that shows the characters singing as well as sharing their thoughts and commentaries for the movie.

Emily Blunt best expressed it, saying, "The words really lured all of these characters to discover what they really want in life. The theme is to be careful what you wish for."

And that includes being happy with what one has.

"Into the Woods" will hit theaters on Christmas Day. What a jolly treat that would be for the entire family!
