Apple has just launched the iOS 10.1 update for their products such as the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 Plus. With a new update comes the anticipation of new jailbreak tools which will allow users to install restricted apps not available on the App Store. It is now rumored that the Pangu Team will be releasing their jailbreak soon.

According to Neurogadget, Pangu has not released any jailbreak tool for the vanilla iOS 10.0.0 because they are aware Apple is going to launch the iOS 10.1 and 10.2 updates shortly thereafter. These new updates will come with new features, like the new photo options for iPhone 7, but they will also come with increased security features.

Because of this, it is rumored that the hackers waited until iOS 10.1 was officially out before they launch their jailbreak tool. It is speculated the team had been working on an iOS 10.1 jailbreak for some time now, and it may even work for the upcoming 10.2 update as well.

Unfortunately, no exact launch date has been given for the new jailbreak tools. According to the report, consumers could expect the team to release the jailbreak within this week or within next week. It should be noted that Pangu has not made any official statements regarding their release window yet.

A separate report from iTech Post points out that consumers not willing to wait can use the new Tinyumbrella software that will downgrade a phone's iOS back to iOS 9.3. There is a jailbreak available for iOS 9.3, and by downgrading back to it, users can continue using Cydia to get apps normally not available for the iPhone.

The report also out that there is an alternative for Cydia called Mojo. The main benefit is that Mojo does not require jailbreaking but the downside is that not all the apps found on Cydia are on Mojo. Besides this little caveat, Mojo is the best alternative until an official jailbreak for iOS 10.1 has been released.
