iOS 10 jailbreak release date news: downgrading and sideloading are temporary alternatives to jailbreak tool

For the past several months, Apple has been winning the race against their operating system's hackers by putting any jailbreaking tools at bay with constant updates. The jailbreaking community still has no way of jailbreaking the company's latest operating system — which is now at iOS 10. 0.2 — with most having no other choice but to comply with Apple's closed ecosystem.

However, there are other alternatives for those who still want to jailbreak their phones and be free to edit and customize its operating system. Since hacking teams like Pangu have yet to release a stable jailbreaking tool, users in the jailbreaking community are now resorting to risky alternatives to get what they want out of their device.

One of the ways to truly get more control over how an iOS device works nowadays is to downgrade the software on the device to an operating system version that has a stable jailbreaking tool available. As it stands, the last operating system version with an available jailbreaking tool is iOS 9.3.5.

A new tool that can be downloaded online — called "Tinyumbrella" — makes downgrading an easy procedure and allows those with iOS 10 on their device to roll back their updates to iOS 9.3.5. However, there are risks to downgrading an operating system, and users are advised to backup all of their content before doing so.

Another alternative is a software called "Mojo." The software itself does not change the operating system version but instead allows users to access the apps that are available on Cydia. These apps are otherwise not available on iTunes and the App store and provide users with more customization options. There are still risks of bloatware from unverified apps found on Cydia and it will be up to the user to determine which of them are safe to download.

For now, these two methods are the only way of going around Apple's constant updates, unless hackers come up with a working jailbreaking tool for Apple's latest operating system version very soon.
