Staying true to its promise, Apple has released the new iOS 11.1.2 software update available for supported iPhone and iPad devices. The update includes an important fix to a problem raised by iPhone X users, where the latest flagship device gets a frozen screen as the temperature drops.

As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple addressed the issue reported by several iPhone X users last week, saying that a software update would be released soon to fix the smartphone's unresponsive screen. The Cupertino-based tech giant admitted that there is a certain range of temperature in which an Apple device could work properly, although the iOS 11.1.2 would still aim to restore a temporarily unresponsive iPhone X screen after a steep drop in temperature.

Aside from checking the iPhone X's screen responsiveness, the iOS 11.1.2 update also solves the photo and video issue in iPhone X. Specifically, some users raised their concern about the distorted images in Live Photos. It is unlikely that the distortion problem lies in the powerful dual-lens camera of the iPhone X, thus a software update would be enough to fix the issue.

The previous minor update released by Apple, iOS 11.1.1, was made to fix the strange auto-correct bug that replaces the small letter "i" with a capital letter "A" followed by a question mark (?) symbol. Meanwhile, Apple is still working on the next major software upgrade, iOS 11.2, with the version available for developers and public beta testers. The iOS 11.2 is expected to feature Apple Pay Cash, as well as AirPlay 2 support and SiriKit for HomePod.

The iOS 11 introduced a lot of exciting new features for the public, although the software version was met with criticisms following a number of bugs and glitches associated with the update. The users are hopeful that the iOS 11.1.2 would be the last update needed to solve unwanted issues. To update the iOS version, go to Settings tab, General, then click on Software Update.
