iOS 8 was launched this year powering the latest line up of iPhones and iPads. However, the operating system was plagued with bugs and issues causing crashes and errors that disappointed and annoyed a lot of users. In an attempt to resolve the problems, Apple rolled out the iOS 8.1.1, but it did not fix most of the issues. The company also released the iOS 8.1.2, which slightly stabilized the performance of the software, but still left some bugs.

Now, Apple is preparing for a major OS update, the iOS 8.2, which it already sent out to developers for testing and scrutiny. The concrete release date of the iOS 8.2 is still unknown, but it includes several bug fixes, such as a fix on the Messages bug, which causes conversations to take too long to open. According to developers, the iOS 8.2 will finally put an end to some of the major bugs and issues left unresolved by the iOS 8.1.2. 

One of the biggest update that iOS 8.2 will bring is in relation to the Apple Watch. The beta versions include WatchKit software development that allows developers to create apps meant for the new wearable tech. 

Meanwhile, those with mobile devices still running with the iOS 8.1.1 can get the iOS 8.1.2 through Over-The-Air update or by via iTunes. iOS-based devices should receive a notification, but users can also check by going to the Settings > General > Software Update. 

The iOS 8.1.2 update can be downloaded and installed to the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus as well as to iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina display, iPad mini, iPad (third- and fourth-generation), iPad 2 and fifth-generation iPod touch.
