Days after Apple released its brand-new update to the iOS 8 operating system, users found out that version 8.3 still has some kinks. 

According to MacRumors, users have flocked to discussion forums and several online sites to report that a nasty bug has come packaged with the 8.3 update – it disables Touch ID. Because of the turned off Touch ID feature, users who wish to download or purchase from the Apple Store or those who are familiar with Apple Pay have not been able to use the service.

In a Reddit post, one user said, "I just updated to iOS 8.3 and it completely removed my ability to use Touch ID in the App Store on my iPhone 6." 

Specifically, once the Touch ID feature is disabled, it no longer validates purchase over the Apple network, and the bug persists even if users try to turn the feature off and then on again in the settings.

The Reddit user added, "It asks for my password for each and every purchase. Is anyone else seeing this? The option to use Touch ID in the App Store is on. I have already tried turning it off and on again to re-enter my password." 

Not only that, Mashable also reports that in their test for the bug, the Touch ID option disappeared on the check-out menus in the iPhone 6. Other reports suggest that this bug is not only present in the 6 series but also on the iPhone 5s and the iPad Air 2. 

Apple has yet to comment on how they would solve this particular issue for millions of iOS users. There are still glitches even though Apple went so far as to seed the beta versions to developers and initiate public beta testing. However, it seems that many of those who need a stable Touch ID feature in their transactions are willing to wait, as they are also already familiar with how Apple rolls out iOS versions.
