A Chinese jailbreak developer has just recently shown that the iOS 8.4.1 is still vulnerable to a jailbreak.

The demonstration was showcased by Chinese jailbreak team Pangu at the HackPwn 2015 security conference, which was held last Aug. 21.

To be clear, the Chinese jailbreak development team simply showed attendees at the event how an iPhone 6 running the iOS 8.4.1 could still be vulnerable to a jailbreak; but they actually stopped short of giving the people on hand a look at an actual device that was currently running the software, according to the International Business Times UK.

Pangu has also not made information relevant to the iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak they have demonstrated widely available, so people don't really know that much about it, which is probably not an accident.

Pangu reportedly has no plans to release the iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak presumably because the iOS 9 should already arrive in less than a month. The jailbreak, if they release it now, would only be useful for about a month before having to be replaced. Instead, Pangu may be planning on using the things they have learned attempting to jailbreak the iOS 8.4.1 to crack iOS 9 as well. 

Nevertheless, the fact that Pangu managed to at least show that an iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak is possible is somewhat surprising to some, considering earlier expectations that users who have upgraded to the latest version of Apple's operating system (OS) could not pull off the feat anymore, according to iJailbreak.

Apple reportedly addressed many of the holes that were in the previous 8.4 firmware so that the 8.4.1 version could finally be impervious to the exploits, but that appears not to have been the case.

Given that Pangu has not decided to release the iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak, those who want to continue using the features of the jailbreak software can opt to stay with 8.4 or simply downgrade if they have upgraded previously.
