iOS 8.4 jailbreak by Taig: How to install

Apple

TaiG is back with another version of its jailbreak tool, this time for the iOS 8.4. The Chinese iOS developer team released a Mac version of the infamous jailbreak tool more than a month after a version for Windows was made available.

The new release is also compatible with older versions of Apple's software including 8.3, 8.2 and 8.1.3. The iOS 8.4 jailbreak should work perfectly with the iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad mini and basically all the Apple devices that followed, including the revamped iPod touch.

Those who plan to make use of TaiG's new jailbreak tool have several important things to keep in mind. First, the device to be jailbroken should be running a fresh iOS 8.4 build. The Find My iPhone feature and the passcode lock should both be disabled.

Owners are reminded to back up everything stored on the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch via iCloud or iTunes so in the event something goes wrong during the jailbreaking process, these precious files won't be harmed or lost forever.

When all that's taken care of, power up that Mac computer and follow these steps shared by Tech Times:

  1. Download the TaiG iOS 8.4 jailbreak for Mac tool. Once done, open the dmg file and drag the TaiG jailbreak tool to the Applications folder.
  2. Don't open the TaiG tool without closing iTunes. After making sure the software isn't running on the Mac, open the TaiG tool (the one that's hauled on the Applications folder).
  3. When the iOS 8.4 jailbreak tool launches, it will automatically recognize the user's device. Proceed to uncheck the 3K assistant option while making sure the Cydia option is ticked.
  4. Click the Start button to begin the jailbreak process. A progress indicator will be displayed to show the steps being performed. During this procedure, the device will reboot multiple times.
  5. After minutes of waiting, the device should now be jailbroken.
