As videos on YouTube have emerged, showing viewers step-by-step processes for jailbreaking the iOS 8, Apple users are now being cautioned to steer clear from such links. It has been reported that certain videos showing viewers how to jailbreak the iOS 8 only directs these individuals to a scam website.

One video, in particular, claims that the steps it shows will jailbreak the recent OS update; however, it only switches the device's OS to the previous iOS 7.

Aside from the highly popular jailbreaking teams Pangu and Evasi0n, other software releases may not get users to jailbreak the iOS 8 successfully. According to Pangu, the iOS 8 jailbreak is still in the works.

In its official statement, Pangu says: "[Reminder] Just 1 day before iOS 8 official release, guess that devices except iPhone 4 can't be restored with 7.1.2 firmware. If you want to jailbreak please grab the last moment. For iOS 8, we are already on the way..."

As such, looking into a handful of jailbreak software at the moment may not guarantee an iOS 8 jailbreak for users who are looking forward to such release.

In a recent statement by MuscleNerd, new jailbreakers are advised to think twice about getting their hands on the newly released jailbreak software.

"To 2014′s new jailbreakers: if you update to today's iOS 8.0, you'll lose your JB and won't be able to go back to 7.x. Beware..." the Evad3r team member warned.  Further, he said, "(For completeness: The only group of users able to downgrade from 8.0 will be old-school iPad2 users with 4.x or 5.x blobs, using redsn0w)."

According to IB Times, an upcoming iOS 8 update, or the iOS 8.1, will be made available in October, and the next update, deemed as the iOS 8.2, may be launched in early 2015.  As such, it has been suggested that an iOS 8 jailbreak may become available this November, in between the launching of the two upcoming OS updates.
