Apple has made quite a few announcements this week.

After unveiling the latest products like the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus as well as the wearable device called Apple Watch, the tech giant also revealed that iOS 8 will be available for download beginning Sept. 17.

The software update will be compatible with a wide range of Apple products, such as the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, 5th generation iPod touch, iPad 2, iPad Air, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, as well as the iPad mini 2. The latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will come with the iOS 8 as they become available in the market on Sept. 19.

Since the next-generation operating system exclusive to Apple products will not come out until next week, developers still have time to make sure that all its features are working well.

According to reports, the new iOS 8 includes a lot of upgrades which were not seen in its earlier versions. It includes an improved camera app that has a time-lapse mode so that users can take pictures with extended moments, as well as speed up the video capturing capabilities with an advanced frame rate.

Also, iOS 8 will introduce the new Health app this fall. This is a breakthrough in mobile health technology as it can integrate the user's personal health information from different third-party devices into the software. In turn, it can easily send vital health information to medical physicians anywhere.

The messages app is also improved in this version of iOS. Users can simply tap their gadgets to share photos, videos, as well as voice messages. They can also go through multiple videos and photos while a conversation is ongoing.

For easier downloading process, users can simply go to the Settings tab of their devices, then click on the General tab, and choose the Software Update option.
