New speculations suggest that a jailbreak version for the iOS 9.2 platform might be seen soon, as footage of what appeared to be untethered versions of the jailbreak floated online recently.

According to iDownloadBlog, an iOS hacker who goes by the handle qwertyoruiop uploaded a presentation footage of an iPhone 6 running iOS 9.2. Good news for jailbreak fans is that the hacker was reportedly able to run an untethered jailbreak version of the iOS in the Apple device.

In the video, the hacker confirmed that the version he was highlighting in the footage was a full jailbreak version by launching the Cydia app and even performing a command on the Mobile Terminal plus showcasing some WinterBoard themes.

The industry follower added that while the showcase presentation footage was for the iOS 9.2 jailbreak, the hacker reportedly claimed that an untethered version can also be done for iOS 9.2.1 and even up to iOS 9.3, which is still in beta version.

Although the hacker uploaded the video publicly, the full version of the jailbreak will remain private, meaning that those who are expecting to use the jailbreak version will not be able to check it out anytime soon. According to the hacker, the upload only served to remind people that a jailbreak version of the iOS is still possible, even with the more stringent security measures reportedly put up by Apple.

Meanwhile, as people still wait for the jailbreak version of iOS 9.2, jailbreak development team PanGu reportedly told Apple fans that it will be better to update as soon as possible to iOS 9.2.1. The security flaws and vulnerabilities in iOS 9.2 are numerous and updating to a current platform is advised. While the team did not specifically mention it, the advice might also be an indication that a jailbreak for iOS 9.2.1 is soon to arrive, since fans will need to have the same build of the official iOS when converting to its jailbreak version.
