Reports surrounding Apple's forthcoming operating system called iOS 9 have been very persistent in the past few weeks. Leaks from Google gave the Apple-loving community a hint that its manufacturer is busy testing out the firmware on certain devices. Now, new speculations suggest that the giant Cupertino-based company is seriously going all-out for its next software release. 

The reports came from details about an alleged iPhone 6S and an iPhone 6S Plus shared by Taiwanese website Technews. Apparently, Apple is doubling its current flagship smartphone's internal memory for the newer handsets, so these alleged devices might pack 2 GB of LPDDR4-based RAM. The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus currently house 1 GB of LPDDR3-based RAM. 

As Forbes further elucidated, making the RAM twofold and upgrading it to DDR4 from DDR3 (which, by the way, is used in other superior devices like the Galaxy S5, Note 4 and Nexus 6), will make the future smartphones faster and more powerful than ever. Apple's contenders in the showground chip in 3 to 4 GB of RAM and the company has always been the tightfisted one in this department. 

This very information has led many to believe that the upcoming iOS will be something unimaginably massive. If future iPhones will be hosting such a huge upgrade, it is almost a given that they will run a more-than-capable operating system to keep the power and performance pristine, poised and perfect. Apple is known for making monumental steps when it comes to upgrading its software so it is expected all the more that iOS 9 will be another towering jump for the tech firm. 

Notably, iPhones are already speedy and that is already impressive. So with a RAM twice the size and an expected surge of new features and services on the new operating system, the unfounded iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus should have redoubtable power.
