iPad Air

Latest reports claimed that iPad Air 2 features include a TouchID fingerprint sensor, A8 processor with 64-bit architecture, and iOS 8.

iPad Air 2 release date was speculated to happen in October and the tablet may be the sole tablet Apple will release this year. According to KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo, who has gained credibility when it comes to his analysis and reports with Apple products, the company prioritizes iPad Air 2.

"Compared with lower-margin iPad mini with Retina display, which shipments has been tepid, higher-margin iPad Air was a hot selling item in 4Q13, which will slow Apple in developing new iPad mini models," she said.

"We believe Apple plans to launch upgraded iPad Air early this year, and will accelerate development of 12.9″ iPad," she added.

Below are the three rumored features that will make iPad Air 2 rise above its rivals such as Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and Microsof Surface Pro 3.

iOS 8

iPad Air 2 will definitely come with the upcoming iOS 8 packed with new features and capabilities. 9to5Mac reported that the new operating system will add split-screen multitasking in the next version of iOS. This will allow users to use two iPad applications at once. This new feature will also enable the user to drag content from one app to another.

TouchID Fingerprint Sensor

iPad Air 2 will surely pack a TouchID fingerprint sensor, which was skipped on the first generation of the device. A fingerprint scanner first debuted in Apple's iPhone 5S. Although the smartphone was released in September and the iPad Air was launched a month after, many were surprised that the particular features did not land on the new iPad.

64-Bit A8 Processor

The iPad Air will pack the A8 processor with 64-bit architecture. This will make the new tablet faster. Other rumors claimed that the tablet will make use of Intel processors. However, Apple has not confirmed any of these rumors.
