After Apple skipped announcing the new iPads, it is speculated that the next generation of Apple's tablets will be unveiled this month. Last year's iPad Air was launched on Oct. 22. Thus, the new tablet will most likely be announced around Oct. 21 to 24.

Tech web site DailyDot is confident that the iPad Air 2 will be released on Oct. 21. The report cited sources familiar with the matter, and added that the Cupertino-based company will announce two new iPads alongside OS X Yosemite.

Four features are highly anticipated in the new tablet. The iPad Air 2 or iPad 6 will be powered by an A8 processor with 64-bit architecture that promises faster and better performance. The device will also most likely pack a separate M8 graphics processor. The new mobile devices of Apple will run with the new iOS 8, which packs a variety of new features including the new iHealth app for monitoring one's health.

Aside from the A8 chipset, M8 GPU and iOS 8, the iPad Air 2 will pack Apple Pay, the company's version of an e-Wallet. The tech giant claimed that the service offers more security than credit cards. Moreover, it is said to have the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. With the recent improvements and upgrades made on the device, it is most likely to land in the company's tablet line to be one of its selling points.

Previous rumors claimed that the upcoming iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 will pack the same design and form factor of their predecessors. The two will also pack the same screen display with the upgraded pixel resolution as well as upgraded camera at the back and more efficient and longer battery life.

However, Apple has not revealed any official information about the iPad release date and features.
