Apple's iPad Air lineup has been surrounded by rumors for the past months, with a lot of fans concerned that this line will be cancelled soon because of Apple's desire to streamline its products. Regardless, there are still a lot of fans who believe that the newest iPad Air 3 will be launched within this year.

According to the Ecumenical News, the reason behind the fear of the possibility of the iPad Air's imminent end is this device was absent at the WWDC event last month. The device also did not appear at Apple's September event last year, where they announced the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Couple that with the rumors of the iPad Pro being close to the iPad Air lineup, the rumor gained traction and a lot of fans even believe it to be a fact.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, rumors of the newest iPad Air could still be released by the fourth quarter of 2016. The pattern held true throughout the years, so it is believed that the iPad Air 3 will be introduced sometime around October. To further examine the pattern, the first iPad Air was revealed in Oct. 22, 2013 and the second one on Oct. 16, 2014. Even without a 2015 release, it could still be possible that the tablet will be launched around this time.

Furthermore, the earlier iterations of the iPad Air is already seeing a discounted price among the retailers in the United States. This could possibly mean that a new iteration will be released soon.

Regardless, according to Breathe Cast, the iPad Air 3 will be 6.1mm thick and will have a 9.7-inch display with a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. This device will also reportedly come with the latest A10 chipset, which would make it one of Apple's top products if ever it does get released and the rumors hold true.
