While Apple remains mum on the new iPad Air 3, speculations say that when the new Apple tablet launches, it will be considered as one of the most powerful tablets to be released by the Cupertino-based company.

According to Realty Today, the iPad Air 3 will still retain the same design and form factor as those in the previous iPads but there will be changes both outside and inside. Although the upcoming iPad will have the same dimensions and the 9.7-inch display, it will use the same screen tech as the iPhone 6S, bringing the resolution to 2334 x 3112 pixels, with a 401 pixel density.

The website also reports that part of the upgraded performance of the iPad Air 3 is that it will also carry an IPX7 rating, which means that it will be waterproof.

The iPad Air 3 will also come with the new A9X chipset, at least 2 GB of RAM, and an additional 128 GB of storage. However, since it will be reportedly thinner than previous iPads, it might also come with a slightly lesser capacity battery.

The iPad Air 3 is rumored to be coming in March next year. However, some observers are wary of the projected release window.

According to Ecumenical News, Apple has just recently released a new addition to the iPad lineups in the form of the Pro and the Mini 4. Although fans are already expecting an updated addition to the original iPad lineup, the company may just focus on the two recently released flagships instead.

Having the company focus on the two new devices is said to delay the release of the iPad Air 3, at least after the iPad Pro and Mini 4 have established their markets and gained some traction in regard to their sales.
