With the recently-concluded Worldwide Developers Conference focusing on the announcement of the new platform iOS 9, many fans now speculate that Apple's launch of the new mobile OS would be accompanied by a new product line-up, particularly a new version of the iPad mini. The latest rumors place the Apple tablet's release to be in the latter part of this year, specifically in October.

According to observer site Yibada, Apple's habit of releasing a new iPad mini every October has already been marked by Apple fans. The first iPad mini made its debut on Oct. 23, 2012, followed by the second iPad Mini on Oct. 22 the year after. The most recent release, the third-generation iPad mini, was launched on Oct. 16 last year. Since Apple has been consistent in the previous years, fans are expecting that the Cupertino-based company will be releasing a new iPad mini this coming October.

In addition, the announcement of the upcoming iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan also made observers speculate that if Apple would like to maximize exposure for its upcoming platforms, it may partner the new operating systems with a launch of a new line-up of flagship products carrying the new platforms. For the new OS X, Apple might introduce a new Mac desktop and laptop. Meanwhile, the iOS 9's launch could be accompanied by the new iPad mini and another rumored product, the iPad Pro.

Although the details about the upcoming iPad mini and iPad Pro remain as mere speculations, events surrounding the products' parent company may lend credence to the rumors. With other tech competitors also trying to upstage each other on the global markets, Apple might be readying for a full-court press of new Apple products and services come third quarter of this year.
