Despite a lack of details about the tablet, the iPad mini 5 is expected to be one of the products that Apple will launch at its upcoming September event.

New iPad releases are usually unveiled in October. However, last year, Apple did not have an event in the said month and just squeezed all its new offerings in its September affair.

It is expected that Apple will do the same this year, which is why the iPad mini 5, although its predecessors were released October in the past years, will be out and about this September.

That being said, the iPad mini 5 will share the spotlight with a whole lot more Apple flagships, including the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus as well as the purported new MacBooks and even the Apple Watch 2.

The iPad Air 3 is even expected to be released alongside the iPad mini 5, which means that Apple might actually be looking to reinforce its tablet products this year.

Last year, it was expected that the iPad mini 5 will be released as well as the iPad Air 3. However, Apple devoted its time to the humongous iPad Pro and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

While the latter is deemed the replacement of the iPad Air line, the iPad mini is still to be very much alive, which is why the iPad mini 5 is expected for release this September.

Specs-wise, the iPad mini 5 is rumored to come with a 7000-series aluminum chassis, which allows the tablet to be more durable while allowing it to be thinner and sleeker.

The device is also expected to come with a faster processor and that it will be integrated with the infamous 3D Touch technology to make it on par with its smartphone counterpart.

In the imaging department, users can expect an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 1.2MP selfie shooter.
