The iPad Mini 5 is currently expected to launch this coming September, reports MacWorld. If this proves true then it is going to launch alongside the upcoming iPhone 7 and the Apple Watch 2. The devices are all expected to be unveiled in September but Apple may space out their official releases until all of them are out by October.

According to the report, the iPad Mini 4 was launched back in September 2015 and this is because Apple no longer held separate events in August, September and October, instead opting to host a single event for all their devices in September. It is speculated that the company will do the same this year to unveil all three of the aforementioned devices.

University Herald reports that the iPad Mini 5 may even get a name change. According to the report, the tablet might be referred from here on out as the iPad Pro Mini given that Apple has now launched a 9.7-inch version of the iPad Pro, which was initially released as a large, 12-inch tablet for more upscale work like video editing and entrepreneur apps.

No matter what the device may be called it is expected to come with Retina display for full HD viewing and 3D Touch, a feature that allows users to input different instructions depending on how hard or how quickly they press on the touch screen.

It is also expected to come with an improved battery that will work around the issues consumers have raised regarding the older iPad Mini 3 and iPad Mini 4. An improved battery would allow the iPad Mini 5 aka iPad Pro Mini to to last several days even when being used for everyday activities such as browsing, social media apps and taking photos.

Apple has yet to announce an official release date for the iPad Mini 5 and what features it may have upon release.
