California-based Cupertino tech giant Apple has recently released their first 10-inch plus tablet — the iPad Pro — making hardcore Apple fans speculate about what will come next in the iPad Pro lineup, specifically, the iPad Pro 2.

Due to the lack of news regarding the iPad lineup at Apple's recent September event, speculation suggests that the iPad Pro successor might be launched in the early quarter of 2017.

However, despite the news that the iPad Pro will be launched next year, some fans still hope that the upcoming Apple tablet will be announced at Apple's October 2016 event.

Additionally, some rumors suggest that the Apple's iPad Pro line-up will not be receiving any major upgrades for 2016, and that the Cupertino tech giant is expected to make up for the lack of iPad Pro upgrades with a new iPad Pro 2 launch in 2017.

Despite the lack of information from Apple as to what the iPad Pro 2's features and specifications will be, rumors suggest that the iPad Pro successor will come out in three variants of different display sizes. The iPad Pro 2 is expected to come out with a small 7.9-inch display intended for private users, and two larger 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch displays intended for commercial and educational use.

What's more is that the device is rumored to sport a True Tone display for all its variants. The True Tone display will allow the device's screen color temperature to adapt to the current ambient lighting of the environment that the user is in, which means better image displays despite the light bouncing off the device's display.

The device is also expected to have a slimmer and lighter design than the iPad Pro. And just like the iPhone 7, the upcoming tablet is said to ditch the 3.5 mm analog headphone jack.

The new iPad Pro 2 is expected to come out of the box running on the latest version of iOS 10, and will be powered by Apple's new A10X processor. The device is also expected to gain enhanced multitasking features as it is rumored to come with 4 GB of RAM.

Other speculated features of the iPad Pro 2 include a 3D touch feature, a pressure sensitive home button, and a water-resistant body.

The iPad Pro 2 is expected to come to the market sometime in 2017 with a price tag of around $799 USD.
