There may be quite a few anticipated updates for the various tablet devices under the iPad lineup from Apple, but arguably the most interesting prospect is the second-generation iPad Pro, which earlier rumors claimed was to be released before the end of the year. Unfortunately, there's only barely a month left before 2016 comes to an end and there still is no iPad Pro 2.

Nonetheless, it also isn't totally accurate to say that Apple is no longer releasing it. The fact that several publications have already talked and reported about the projected specs of the rumored professional tablet device is proof enough that they have sources telling them that the iPad Pro 2 is indeed coming.

One of those sources is a reputable Japanese blog site called Mac Otakara, which speculated that that device will be offered in three different variants by the Cupertino-based company, with all of them having practically the same specs, with the difference exclusively on the size of the screen. According to the blog, the three are the 7.9-inch, 10.1-inch, and 12.9-inch versions.

According to Mobile & Apps, the iPad Pro 2 will be featuring Apple's latest set of innovations, including a carryover of MacBook's Touch ID, True Tone display, and the Smart Connector, all of which are also projected to be included in the other iPad devices from Apple.

And because Apple successfully ditched the traditional headphone jack in its iPhone 7 flagship smartphone, it won't be that much of a surprise if the iPad Pro 2 also is devoid of it. Finally, the device could be powered by either the current-generation A9 processor or the more advanced and latest A10X processor from Apple, combined with at least 3 GB of random access memory for the base 7.9-inch variant, and 4 GB of RAM for the bigger models.
