iPad Pro 2 release date, specs rumors update: Early 2017 launch rumored for three variants

The iPad Pro 2, according to a report from Game N Guide, is likely to launch by early 2017. The information has been stated by industry insider Ming-Ching Kuo, who also predicted the iPad Pro 2 will offer a 10.5-inch version as well as a 9.7-inch version.

This would allow the iPad Pro 2 to release without taking away the potential Apple consumers who will be focusing on the iPhone 7 this September and October. Since it will come after the iPhone 7 it is more than likely going to feature iOS 10 right out of the box as its default OS.

According to the report, there may in fact be a third version of the iPad Pro 2 as there is also a possible of a 12.9-inch variation as well. It is noted that the original iPad Pro was 12.9-inches which makes it possible that the iPad Pro 2 will indeed offer all three sizes when it releases.

iTech Post also reveals that the iPad Pro 2 will also feature an improved version of the Apple Pencil, making it a better tablet for educational purposes and for business work. It is unclear if the improvements for the Apple Pencil are solely for its performances or if there will be additional features or an improved battery.

The report also points out that the iPad Pro 2 will likely feature two different processor options. The larger 12.9-inch and 10.5-inch versions will come with the A10X processor while the 9.7-inch variant will come with the A9X processor. The A10X processor is based on the A10 processor used for Mac desktop computers but redesigned for the mobile platform.

Apple has yet to confirm or deny any of the rumors surrounding the features and release date of the iPad Pro 2 and as such any information regarding the device at this point should still be taken as speculation.
